There many ways to help Friends of the Oakland Fox (FOOF) advocate and support the historic preservation of the Fox Oakland Theater and its use as a live entertainment venue.

1. Sign up to receive Fox Theater project email updates and to volunteer with specific projects and/or join standing or ad hoc committees.
2. Donate to the Capital Campaign
3. You can become a FRIEND of the Fox Oakland Theater by joining FOOF

ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHER(s):
FOOF needs one or two volunteers who are willing to take high quality interior and exterior photographs over the next few years to document work being done on the building and to present the theater in a variety of ways for fundraising and PR purposes. If you are interested, email FOOF at [email protected].

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE:
This committee raises money by preparing grant applications, planning fundraising events, conducting direct mail campaigns, and developing other ways to raise funds. If you would like to help, please contact FOOF at [email protected].

RESEARCHER – HISTORIAN(s):
Look through newspapers and other sources from the 20s, 30s, 40s, and even 50s to see what was playing at the Fox Oakland Theater. Make notes and/or copies of ads. Identify major movies and important performers. Look for reviews and copy them. Organize and evaluate this information to see what can be used on the "Famous Performers" page of this Web site -- and what might be added to the "History" page, etc. Find historical photographs that can be used to help plan the theaters restoration. For more information and to volunteer, contact FOOF at [email protected].

WEB SITE & e-NEWSLETTER COMMITTEE:
This committee keeps FOOF's Web site up-to-date. Volunteers with both technical expertise and/or writing experience are needed on the committee. The writing could become a regular activity – an e-newsletter – summarizing meeting minutes, writing press releases, and reporting on current planning and restoration activities. We'd like a volunteer to manage the "History: MEMORY LANE" page; and we'd like a volunteer to manage the "What's New: LINKS" page. Let us know if you are interested. Email FOOF.

Friends of the Oakland Fox, Inc. is a nonprofit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service under section 501(c)(3). Contributions to FOOF are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
